Jim Memory

Jim Memory I have been practicing Clinical Massage Therapy in the Boston area since 2002. I received my Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado and my Massage Therapy certificate from Palmer Institute of Massage and Bodywork in Salem, Ma. I am certified in Orthopedic Massage as well, which focuses on the assessment and treatment of orthopedic injuries.

While attending the University of Colorado, I suffered injuries from a 120-foot fall as the result of a rock climbing accident outside of Boulder. After undergoing eight months of intensive treatment including Physical and Massage Therapy, I was able to achieve a full recovery from my injuries, to the degree of completing a marathon and two triathlons to date. Realizing the incredible benefits of hands-on therapy through this experience, I decided to pursue a degree in Kinesiology and follow with a Massage Therapy Certification.

My unique style of bodywork utilizes a combination of Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Sports Massage, Deep Tissue work, and Orthopedic Assessment. I focus my work on the treatment and prevention of acute and chronic pain due to injury, postural distortion and athletic training. I strongly believe in empowering my clients with the knowledge of why they are experiencing pain and how they can take an active role in its elimination as well as prevention.

My clients include professional triathletes, people who suffer from chronic pain, computer users with poor posture, and more generally people who are interested in maintaining healthy lifestyles. My goal is to use my talents in Massage Therapy to help people free themselves of pain so that they may enjoy their lives to the fullest.

Katrina Baker

Katrina Baker I graduated from the Chicago School of Massage Therapy in 2002, following completion of my B.A. in Anthropology from Ithaca College. I returned to my native Massachusetts in 2004, and have worked as a Massage Therapist in the Boston area since then.

My experience in massage therapy includes certification in Myofascial Release, advanced training in Orthopedic Massage, and completion of Level 1 Thai Massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I am also a certified yoga instructor, having completed Barbara Benagh's 500 hour Art of Teaching course in 2007.

Over the years I have developed my style of bodywork into one that combines many techniques and modalities, and is strongly influenced by my active lifestyle and committed yoga practice. As a cyclist, outdoor enthusiast, yogi and health nut, I bring a blend of interests into my massage practice that allows me to work on a multitude of needs.I incorporate Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular, Myofascial Release, Sports Massage and breath work into my sessions.

Each and every session is different, and I am acutely sensitive to tailoring the session to the fit the needs of each client. Each body has a story to tell from years of chronic overuse, old injuries, habits and patterns. My style and approach to therapeutic massage is very similar to my yoga practice, in that every day is different, and therefore your needs will change as well.

I am always excited to discuss nutrition and self care, as I have learned much from my clients over the years, and have a lot to share from my own experience as well. I often give clients yoga poses that I find suitable for their needs and self-care routines. I have an extensive repertoire of various stretches and foam rolling instruction as well. Whether you have just completed a marathon, are a computer athlete or are simply taking care of your body with maintenance care, I will be attentive to your needs.

My goal is to help each and every client in their unique situation feel the best that they can from therapeutic massage.

Natalie Johnson

Natalie JohnsonI received my BA with an entrepreneur/mgt major from Central Connecticut State University in 2005. Always being a "hands on" sort of spirit, I decided to pursue Massage Therapy as a career after receiving my degree.

I first attended Massage Therapy School in San Diego, CA. After 8 months, I missed the East coast and came back and finished studying at Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester, MA. I completed the accelerated program with studies consisting of acupressure, sports massage, myofascial release, trigger point work, and deep tissue massage. The first event I participated in through school was the 2007 Boston marathon (the really cold and windy one). This is what sparked my interest in the deep tissue aspect of Massage, honing in on specific tension and eliminating pain. My first job out of school was in a spa setting in Providence, RI. While I enjoyed the spa atmosphere, I realized my skills were being wasted on light touch. That's when I decided to move to Boston to begin working with a clinical approach to massage over 3 years ago. My clientele consists of Cross-fitters, ultra-marathoners, tri-athletes, and everyday workers with repetitive use issues.

I have always had a love for sports. I grew up in a sports enthusiast household, my brother could skate before walking and my dad worked in professional hockey, so naturally I became a field hockey player. I also enjoy softball, golf and yes, even BOWLING!! I have challenged myself to a half marathon every year for the past 2 years as well. Last year I completed the Smuttynose Half and this year I ran the Portland, Maine Half. Maybe a full marathon is in my future!

My most recent continuing education classes include Stretching Techniques, Deep Tissue Massage for problem areas, and Orthopedic Assessment.

Next, I plan to pursue training in Kiniesio Taping, pregnancy massage, and thai stretching. It’s my goal to help to provide each client with body work that will keep them pain free and allowance to have them push harder in their everyday life to achieve their goals and optimal health.
